Living Raw Magazine proudly stands as the premier magazine for raw food culture and lifestyle in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
We're passionate about organic, locally grown and produced food, supporting local small businesses and connecting these services to the people who need them most - you.
And we're here to give you a voice, too.
Each and every person who chooses to follow a path conscious of what they eat in the context of their ultimate health and broader global consequences, has unique experiences and wisdom to share - from personal anecdotes to professional advice. Living Raw seeks to be a space for authentic expression of what it means to live raw in our region, with local food cultures, weather, seasons and lifestyle offering our own perspective on the living foods experience.
We warmly invite you to contribute your story, article, advice, recipes, tips, letters and other fresh ideas.
Living Raw was founded by Kate Quinn, a Perth Australia based Writer, Speaker and Coach fascinated and committed to all things organic and pure.
Kate had been a strict vegetarian since age 10, however underlying health issues and a "junk food vegetarian" diet had led to obesity. In June 2007, Kate and her husband Chris, went 100% raw overnight giving away all the processed foods in her kitchen and replacing them with fresh, organic nuts and seeds.
Kate blogged her journey from the outset (Raw & Vegan), and quickly found there were very few Australian raw resources online. Investigating further, she discovered Alive Organics - Australia's largest physical raw food store, just around the corner from her house - amazingly, the answer was under her nose the whole time. Wanting others to discover how easy it was to source fresh organic produce and raw food speciality items, she began compiling a list of products, suppliers and services that specialised in raw food.
Living Raw started life as a handmade 'zine focusing on Perth's raw community, and grew into a national publication the following issue, becoming the deliciously gorgeous magazine you know today. Pedantic about quality and using eco-friendly printing techniques, the printed edition of Living Raw looks and feels as organic as the content within.
It's a testament to one woman's passion to bring the highest quality, authentic and inspirational information as a gift to our community, and the gratitude for your support cannot be expressed enough.
We're proud to have a team of writers, photographers and friends that help bring Living Raw together every issue.
